Why Every Traveler Should Have Brazil On Their Bucket List

Brazil, the country that continues to bless the world with creative football stars, is a country that every traveler should have on their to-do list. Many people who have reviewed its destinations have described it as “the happy country”. Its vastness makes it one of the most diverse destinations in the world.

Whether you want to be part of the carnival or just relax on the beach and visit the sites recommended online, there is something for you. Here are some hidden and not-so-hidden gems that should put Brazil on your to-do list.

Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer), Rio De Janeiro

It’s a statue that you’ve probably seen in pictures, but that doesn’t do it justice. Seeing the arm span of 28 meters is quite an intriguing experience. The statue overlooks the country’s capital at 709 meters above sea level. It stands on top of Corcovado, a point in Tijuca National Park.

To get to the top, you take a cogwheel train over a distance of 3.5 kilometers. From here, you can drink in the breathtaking masterpiece that was completed in 1931. In this area, you can also enjoy waterfalls and springs, and observe beautiful birds and flora.

Iguassu Falls

It is part of the Iguaçu River. It occurs where Brazil meets Argentina and Paraguay. The river heats up by narrowing to a quarter of its normal size just before the falls, creating enough force to create 247 thundering falls. The mental picture is difficult to paint; you have to experience the falls that drop more than 100 meters below. One of the biggest falls is called the Garganta do Diabo, the Devil’s Throat. The area is a UNESCO heritage site.

The pre-Lenten Carnival is known for its colors and action. When you think of decoration, this is the place. From a distance, it may seem like a huge, beautiful mess, but it is a carefully planned and coordinated event. It is a happy holiday where even a newcomer is swallowed indiscriminately. Dancers, musicians and performers are on hand to make sure there’s no dull moment throughout the frenzy of the street.

As mentioned earlier, Brazil’s abundance of offerings is as vast as its size. Its gigantic coastline is teeming with beaches while its towns are still gearing up for a carnival. For football fans, you can be sure you’ll have an exciting match to watch or participate in, whether you’re hitting the streets or the beach.
