Overview of the Library’s summer programming on the Council’s agenda
MUSCATINE, Iowa – A short agenda will greet Muscatine City Council members when they meet on Thursday (June 3) for their first regular session of the month.
Only five action points are on the agenda, including requests for approval of agreements between Muscatine and Fruitland for waste collection and recycling services, and between Muscatine and the Muscatine Humane Society to support the services. of animal control provided by the City.
Muscatine City Council will meet in the council chamber at Muscatine Town Hall from 7 p.m. Thursday. City staff with agenda items will be in the council chamber, but public access to the in-person meeting will not be permitted at this time.
Perhaps the most interesting part of the meeting will be an overview of summer programming at the Musser Public Library and HNI Community Center by the Director of Youth Services, Betty Collins. One of the most anticipated programs of the summer is Summer Reading 2021, which will take children, teens and families on a quest through reading to find clues and hunt for treasure in the Muscatine Park system. A variety of programs are offered in the summer and year round at the Musser Public Library for patrons of all ages.
As public access to the Council Chamber is not permitted, those who wish to watch or participate in the meeting can attend through the GoToMeeting virtual portal.
