Official launch of the PDO service company



Muscat: Petroleum Development Oman’s (PDO) announced the official launch of PDO Services (PDO-S) Limited Liability Company (LLC), a subsidiary of AOP, to enable the commercialization of the company’s expertise.

The new company will leverage the talent, knowledge and skills of PDO staff to deliver niche technical and non-technical services to clients in a wide variety of areas.

The announcement, which follows the registration of the subsidiary by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment Promotion as a limited liability company, marks an important step in PDO’s efforts to enter opportunities outside its concession area.

PDO Managing Director Raoul Restucci said: “The commercialization of our services and the transition to renewable energy – supported by the launch of PDO-S as well as Energy Development Oman (EDO) – is transforming the very nature of business. business, and we look forward to establishing new supply chains, improving value delivery and partnering with local businesses to deliver unparalleled propositions in support of the Oman 2040 principles of productivity and sustainability. Our general aspiration is to expand the mandate of the AOP beyond its current mandate and tap into new areas of value creation for Oman. “

PDO-S’s goals include harnessing and commercializing PDO’s technical and operational capabilities, accelerating technology transfer and transitioning PDO and Oman to new energies, and supporting an economy based on knowledge in the country.
PDO-S, which will be based in Mina Al Fahal, will provide services in seven main areas: upstream learning and development; Geo-solutions for exploration; Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and Logistics; Development planning in the field; Front-end technical design consultancy (FEED); Project Management Consulting (PMC); and innovative technologies.

It is hoped that the launch will pave the way for significant job creation, talent development and potentially lucrative knowledge export opportunities.
