Details on Alexa Bliss’ absence from WWE programming

Alexa Bliss is one of the few names WWE fans have been expecting to return to a regular TV show right now. What was most disappointing for many fans was that Bliss was not included in the plans for Wrestle Mania 38.

In January, it was reported that Bliss had filmed up to nine vignettes for her return to WWE programming. Bliss had originally taken a short leave after her loss to Extreme Rules against Charlotte Flair in September. The vignettes culminated in his return and appearance in the Elimination Chamber match in Saudi Arabia in February.

According to a new report from Fightful Select, even at the time of Bliss’ return to the Disposal Chamber event, there was no substantial creative direction for her. The talent, creativity and superiors Fightful spoke to said Bliss expressed his displeasure in the following days Disposal Chamber about its creative direction or more so its lack.

Although Bliss does not appear on the Wrestle Mania 38 card, she was ready to work the show and there were grounds to involve her in the Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair Raw Women’s Championship match. This was quickly shot down. By the end of February, it was pretty much internally determined that Bliss wouldn’t be featured at WrestleMania at all. Bliss’ booking priority changed significantly after the thumbnails.

Talent and Creativity learned that Bliss was very transparent and frustrated with the non-existent substance of her booking after being inactive for six months. Talent further told Fightful that there were also backstage talks that Bliss raised her concerns directly with Vince McMahon.

There is still no update on the imminent plans for her comeback, but she is currently on her honeymoon after getting married earlier this month. She’s still listed as WWE’s number two babyface on the raw internal depth charts as of last week.

Bliss is listed along with Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley as the top three babyfaces while the top three heels are said to be Becky Lynch, Carmella and Queen Zelina Vega.
